Fair EV charging is an equal right

EqualCharge was founded on a simple belief: apartment residents deserve the same access to EV charging as house owners. We are here to make it happen.

Our story

Australia is in the midst of an electric vehicle transition, but for the millions of people living in apartments, access to charging remains a real challenge.

Unlike house owners, who can install a charger relatively easily, apartment buildings must navigate shared electrical infrastructure, strata governance, and the needs of many residents — making even simple decisions complex.

EqualCharge was established to help bridge that gap.

Too often, buildings either delay decisions altogether or adopt short-term solutions that don't scale. We believe there is a better approach — one that is planned, fair, and built to support future demand.

Our focus is to help Owners Corporations make informed, practical decisions that work not just today, but over the long term.

Because access to EV charging in apartments shouldn't be complicated — and it shouldn't be out of reach.

Our values

These principles guide every engagement and every recommendation.

Fairness

Every solution we design considers the interests of all residents, not just EV owners. Fair cost allocation and equitable access are non-negotiable.

Sustainability

We are helping Australia's transition to electric transport by removing one of the biggest barriers: charging access for apartment residents.

Expertise

Deep knowledge of electrical engineering, strata law, and building infrastructure means our recommendations are always grounded in reality.

Independence

We are not tied to any hardware vendor or installer. Our advice is always in the best interest of the building and its residents.

Why EqualCharge

Choosing the right approach to EV charging in an apartment building is critical. The wrong decision can create long-term cost, complexity and conflict. EqualCharge is designed to help Owners Corporations get it right from the start.

Technical expertise grounded in real delivery

We have worked directly in EV charging, developing load management and billing solutions for apartment buildings. Our advice is based on what works in practice — not theory.

Built for Owners Corporations

We understand how strata decisions are made. From committee dynamics to stakeholder alignment, we help buildings move from discussion to decision.

Governance and compliance first

Every recommendation is structured to align with strata law, lot entitlement and benefit principles — ensuring outcomes are fair, defensible and sustainable.

Independent and vendor-neutral

We are not tied to any hardware or software provider. Our role is to help your building choose the right solution — not sell one.

Focused on fair and scalable outcomes

We design solutions that work for the whole building — not just early adopters — ensuring access can grow over time without creating inequity.

Who we are

EqualCharge was established to help apartment buildings navigate the complexity of EV charging with clarity and confidence.

The business brings together practical experience across electrical infrastructure, product development, and Owners Corporation (OC) governance — ensuring advice is grounded not just in what is technically possible, but in what works.

Murray Gregg

Murray Gregg

Founder & Director

After a long career in telecommunications, Murray returned to energy and electrification. Recognising that Australia's energy transition depends on getting EV charging into apartment buildings — where millions of Australians actually live — he made a deliberate decision to focus on making that transition accessible.

With four years in the EV charging industry and hands-on experience serving on OC committees, Murray understands what it takes to move a building from first conversation to live chargers and what committees need to make that decision with confidence.

David Hamilton

David Hamilton

Founding Advisor

David Hamilton of GHIC has been supporting Owners Corporations developing their EV Strategies and delivering EV charging into their buildings for the past 6 years. He has worked with around 100 OCs across Melbourne including most of its iconic buildings large and small. He has extensive expertise in strata governance, regulatory frameworks and financial structures helps ensure solutions are practical, compliant and aligned with how buildings operate.

David has been a member of his own OC committee so he knows and understands what OC Committees need for an effective EV strategy and how to deliver it.

Together, this combination of technical and governance experience enables EqualCharge to support OCs through the full decision-making process — from understanding options, to aligning stakeholders, to preparing for implementation.

We are genuinely passionate about getting EV charging into apartment buildings.
